Over the summer while working on the site redesign, I was considering new ideas that I could incorporate to enhance the site. I stumbled upon a graphic on the MIXC Speed Rating site showing what it takes to be at different levels in Michigan. The graphic made me wonder where the Illinois ratings stacked up for different measures. Using the ratings history from the past 5 years (excluding 2020) I calculated what the team top 5 average was for the team champion, top 5 teams, top 10 teams and a state qualifying team for each class. I also looked at what it took to be an individual state champion and all state. You can find those averages and ratings on the Historical Perspective page.
This year I will add a leaderboard for team averages so there is a reference to see where teams stack up to the historical perspective. Here are the averages from last year. BoysGirls
